Studio Overview & Practice

A garden must be grown from the light, stone and topography of its place. Across coastal dunes, alpine terraces and urban sanctuaries in Aotearoa New Zealand, our practice shapes landscapes that endure. We orchestrate native plant ecologies with quiet architectural discipline, creating living spaces that mature with grace and belong naturally to home.

Oamaru Meadow & Coastal Woodland

A peaceful garden path winding through lush natural greenery in Oamaru, Otago
Otago Region · Microclimate Study

A secluded walkway balancing prevailing salt winds with layered southern canopy trees.

Every site in New Zealand demands an intimate response to wind, gradient, and seasonal soil moisture. For this Oamaru residential garden, we established a protective shelterbelt of native totara and kohuhu to buffer exposed coastal gusts, creating a tranquil microclimate where understorey ferns, soft mosses, and broadleaf groundcovers thrive. Hand-dressed local limestone steps lead visitors naturally through the sensory transitions of the landscape.
